Synergine was engaged to provide technical and stakeholder engagement support in relation to the assessment of the existing three waters and network services infrastructure in the Wynyard Quarter, and to design infrastructure upgrades considered necessary support the proposed development of this area for the Sea+City project. The reconfiguration and upgrading of existing utilities within the Wynyard Quarter area was an integral part of the Sea+City development, which comprised the revitalisation of an existing bulk fuel and chemical storage area of downtown Auckland, transforming the area into a desirable commercial and residential development with associated public spaces to form a new recreational hub for the city.
With project partners, Synergine provided technical input into the analysis of the existing utility services (wastewater, water supply, power, gas and communications) considering condition, capacity and remaining life in the context of the area’s future utility requirements. As part of this process, Synergine led the consultation and engagement with the various utility service providers and other stakeholders including Watercare, Auckland Council, Metrowater, Vector, Transpower, Telstra Clear and Chorus to ensure developed options made provision for the future requirements of these providers.
In conjunction with project partners, Synergine also completed full detailed design of all new utilities, water and wastewater infrastructure for Wynyard Quarter Precinct 1.
